Hands On workshops in Art and Design

This June @ Arthouse

We have finally moved into our new facility at 110, Outer Circle, Whitefield.

And a lot more than our address has changed! Our little store is now closed, as our studio is getting busier than ever. But our Bazaars and small weekend sales shall continue as before. So, here is what we have planned for the coming month.

  • ARTHOUSE OPEN, our monthly sale on the first weekend of every month is having it’s first sale this season on the 5th and 6th of June. We wish to make this a community initiative, so anyone who makes or promotes any handmade products from foodstuff to fashion and home décor is most welcome to join in and of course, buyers, hold on to your shopping lists. We promise to have an eclectic array of goodies for sale.
  • CHILDREN’S ART CAMPS commence this June from the 14th onwards. The details are attached. This will be our 4th season of camps and we promise our kids a wonderful learning experience. We have planned 4 workshops in visual and applied arts like Photography, dyeing and printing textiles, pottery etc.
  • PHOTOGRAPHY FIELD TRIPS are slated for Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9.30 a.m to 2 p.m from 19th May2010. These are 2day workshops of on site shooting and critique. Our course in basic Photo techniques (8 sessions long) commences this Tuesday, 11th May 2010.
  • EXPRESSIVE ENGLISH is a set of modules in spoken English specially created for children and adults. The first module will commence from the 2nd of June, facilitated by Mrs Meera, a qualified language expert from Cambridge, UK.
  • KINDERDANCE is now conducting dance sessions for children at our studio on Saturday mornings.

Registrations are open in all the mentioned activities.

Art and Textiles

a fun 10 days of exploring art elements and principles that are commonly used in surface design. the kids were aged between 4 and 14.

Portraits at work

a weeklong workshop in self portraits by 4 to 11 year olds.

KASHMIR CALLING!

a five day whistle stop tour of kashmir to experience the beauty, charm and grace of the place, it’s people and their crafts.

the new schedule at Arthouse

Here’s the new schedule at Arthouse. We have a whole new set of courses on offer.

Each course comprises of 8 sessions of 1 to 2 hours each session and is facilitated by an experienced professional in the specified subject. They are:

  • Photography : Rachna Shukla qualified from oregon, USA
  • Textiles: Sushmita G, graduate textile design from NIFT, bangalore
  • Jewelry: Mrinalini C, graduate accessory design, srishti school of art and design, bangalore
  • Claywork: Sharada, studio potter qualified from The golden bridge studio, Pondicherry
  • Art: Devika K, qualified industrial designer from NID, ahmedabad and experienced in formulating Visual arts curriculum from kinder garten to grade 12 for recognised international schools in bangalore. Mini giri, qualified by the spastic society of india as a special educator  and has set up syllabi for preschools in bangalore.

All materials are provided by Arthouse excepting for cameras and computers.
